It is important that on all projects a daily report is completed and submitted to the home office. The daily report will be prepared by the on-site supervisor / foreman and submitted to the home office and will consist of the description of the daily conditions and events on every workday and also include the following additional information:

  • Project Name
  • Customer Name
  • Date
  • Employee Information
    • Name
    • Title
    • Hours Worked
    • Start Time
    • End Time
  • Daily Record/Remarks
  • Detailed list of daily equipment/materials ordered
  • Detailed list of daily equipment/materials received
  • Weather
    • Temperature
    • Humidity
  • List of Equipment on Site
    • Name of Equipment
    • Model
    • Equipment Description
    • Daily Hours
    • Note any repairs needed present/future
  • Track Waste/Scrap material shipped
    • Description of material
    • Container Size
    • Ticket No.
    • Weight In
    • Weight Out
    • Notes
  • Overall comments for the day

The daily report is important for documenting and tracking down time on project sites. If there is a dispute on a project in regards to work being performed that is out of scope or delays being incurred due to unforeseen conditions it can be utilized as backup to prove your position.

It is an essential document for project sites and is necessary for the proper tracking, coordinating conditions on site with the home office and the overall final completion and closeout of the project.
